Ramin Yahyapour

Ramin Yahyapour is full professor at the Georg-August University of Göttingen. He is CIO of the University and the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG). He is also managing director of the GWDG, a joint compute and IT competence center of the university and the May Planck Society.

He holds a doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering and his research interest lies in the area of efficient resource management in its application to service-oriented infrastructures, clouds, and data management.

Dr. Yahyapour is site coordinator in the HiGHmed project which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to foster the digitalization in healthcare by establishing an exchange and analysis platform for research and clinical data. HiGHmed brings together the three university hospitals in Heidelberg, Goettingen and Hannover and the DKFZ in Heidelberg.

Since 2012 he is member of the IT commission of the German science foundation (DFG). He is member of the council for research infrastructures (RfII) established by the German Wissenschaftsrat.
